Measures the relationship of a customer’s neck to his back. This enables a coat collar to be positioned correctly; not too far forward causing a roll below the collar, or too far back causing a gap between the shirt collar and the coat collar. Also, this enables a coat to be balanced; front length to back length. Additionally, it is used to measure the prominence of a customer’s shoulder blades and the prominence of a customer’s seat.
Measures the coat sleeve inseam length. The coat armhole depth, and the way both of a customer’s arms hang naturally at the sides, have been considered in determining the measure. This enables coat sleeves to be made to the proper length; especially important for functional sleeve buttonholes.
The regular Sleeve Device is part of our “KIT” of Instruments. It has a coat sleeve Inseam measurement scale from 11″ to 20 1/4″. Clothiers who have customers with longer than normal arms, may substitute the X-Long Sleeve Device, at an additional cost, which has a measurement scale from 14″ to 26 1/4″.
Measures the trousers inseam. Sometimes it is used for a potentially hard to fit customer, as a double check to confirm the measure derived from the Rise Device. This enables the inseam to be measured without awkwardness because of its 10 inch handle.
Measures a drop shoulder; one shoulder lower than the other shoulder at the collar. This is used as a platform for a customer to stand on. Together with the Retractable Metal Tape Measure and the Six Inch Ruler With Level, this method determines the drop shoulder amount; measuring from the floor to the shirt collar at the shirt yoke seam. Also, using the same 3 hand tools, will determine a customer’s height.
Enables the user to measure to a level surface, from the floor, when used with the Retractable Metal Tape Measure and the Inseam & Drop Shoulder Device. Also, it can be used when marking coat sleeves for alteration; measuring from the tip of the customer’s thumb.
